AMSI workshop "Differential Geometry, Complex Analysis and Lie Theory"

La Trobe University, Melbourne, December 5 – December 7, 2014

Venue, maps and transportation

We are planning to hire one of the La Trobe University Melbourne CBD locations, at Collins St or at Franklin St. More details shortly.

AustMS/NZMS Convention

The workshop is a satellite event of the 8th Australia New Zealand Mathematics Convention (Melbourne University, December 8 – December 12). You are welcome to participate in the Convention.

Invited Overseas Speakers

Will be available soon.

There is no registration fee. Registration will be open shortly.

We are planning some number of one-hour talks by invited Overseas and Australian speakers. There will also be standard talks (25 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions) for participants. We may also have some number of shorter talks (mostly by students).

We are not generally providing the accommodation; you might want to contact one of the accommodations on the AustMS/NZMS webpage, eg Quest – Carlton on Finlay or Quest – Royal Gardens. There might be some limited number of cheap options available on the main LTU campus at Bundoora (note however that you’ll need to spend some time and some money to get from there to the workshop venue). We can’t guarantee that anything will be available, but please indicate your interest on the registration page.

This event is sponsored by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI). AMSI allocates a travel allowance annually to each of its member universities. Students or early career researchers from AMSI member universities without access to a suitable research grant or other source of funding may apply to their Head of Department or Head of Discipline for subsidy of travel, accommodation and registration fee for out of the departmental travel allowance. Please consult the AMSI travel account procedure for further details.
